Red Phalarope, seen at the Boyela waterhole north of Shingwedzi on 14 January 2009. Behaving like a Phalarope - swimming around in haphazard circles while feeding - it was identified as a Red Phalarope (previously called Grey) due to the strong bill, the amount of black on the face and head, and the amount of white on the back. Perceived to be coastal birds, they are only occasionally recorded inland.
